Blue is the colour of serenity
To cut a long story short the power of the word «Greece» is so strong that it directly takes you to infinite blue-sky waters and golden sand beaches.
There is a magic word that takes our imagination directly to infinite sky-blue waters and golden sand beaches. The answer is Greece. It revives the sweetest beachfront memories, vacation photographs and excites us for a fresh summer dreams. Planning your vacation in Greece often starts with picking a new beach location. Looking forward to the annual Blue Flag* publication in 2019 ranking best and clear beaches worldwide, we recall last year for Greece.
Last year, in 2018 Greece was the 2nd country in a prestigious Blue Flag rating, giving way to Spain (which is almost 5 times larger than Greece). Greek beaches occupy 12% of the 2018-rating – 519 Blue Flag beaches. Halkidiki with 89 beaches is the undisputed champion of the Blue Flags – if you look at the map – the coast of 3 fingers is like a turquoise placer. For example, Crete got 77 flags, Rhodes – 35, Attica – 20, Corfu – 11.
Greece is the land of hundreds of beautiful beaches. The maximum distance to the sea in Greece hardly exceeds 100 km. Every Greek needs just about hour and a half by car to get to the sea. Perhaps such closeness to nature, especially to the sea, has become a pledge of legendary hospitality. The one that lives by the sea creates a kinder soul.
While waiting for the 2019 rating, we’ve chosen a couple of secluded coves at the hotels with Blue Flag beaches.
- Peloponnese — Romanos
- Corfu — Corfu Imperial Grecotel Exclusive Resort
- Attika — Grand Resort Lagonissi
